Unbound Movement

Event FAQ

WHAT IS UNBOUND?

Unbound is a student-led movement that is informing, equipping and mobilizing young people to fight modern-day slavery in all its forms.  We believe in saying no to the apathy and inaction of the past and that our generation will end slavery once and for all. We believe that when our words, actions and prayers are focused and united, the results will be beyond anything the world has seen or imagined. Together, we are unbound.

WHAT IS THIS EVENT?
It’s a weekend prayer gathering that will bring together students from all over the country to educate them and mobilize them to combat modern day slavery.  Students will spend time seeking God and seeking justice for victims of oppression.  They will hear stories from people who have lived in slavery as well as from people who are currently leading the fight against it.  There will be lots of music and time in prayer.  It will be serious, and also a time of serious fun.

PRAYER? SERIOUSLY?
That’s right. We refuse to underestimate our generation, and we believe that many of us are serious about God and willing to do the heavy lifting of prayer. And we believe it will make a difference. In fact, praying is probably the most effective thing we can do.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?
There’s no charge! Thanks to the generosity of Crossroads in Cincinnati, we’re inviting participants to join us to learn, pray and act, and not have to pay a registration fee to do so. The gathering is limited to 500 people, so don’t wait until the last minute.

WHO’S MAKING THIS THING HAPPEN?
A group of high school students began planning the event this summer and enlisted the help of some folks from Crossroads in Cincinnati. We’ve also received major support through the participation of International Justice Mission and the Jean-Robert Cadet Restavec Foundation.

WHAT IS CROSSROADS’ AGENDA?
We have none.  Our heart is to partner with other like minded people and our hope is to inspire students to grow this movement by taking action in their own communities, schools and churches.

CAN I VOLUNTEER?
You bet. Email us at volunteer@unboundmovement.org and we’ll let you know what we need.

FREEDOM CENTER FAQ’S FOR THOSE ATTENDING UNBOUND

WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION DOWN TO THE FREEDOM CENTER FROM CROSSROADS?
Each group will be responsible for their own transportation in getting their group down to the Freedom Center.

WHAT WILL THE FREEDOM CENTER COST US?
If you have registered through the Unbound Movement then your admission to the Freedom Center is completely free.  There will be donation boxes set up through out the Freedom Center for those attending the Fair Trade market that are not apart of the whole Unbound Experience.  Please do not feel like you need to donate anything, you are already covered.

WILL IT BE SAFE?
Our intention would never be to provide you with an unsafe environment.  Unbound has gone above and beyond to make sure that everything we do downtown will be a safe and relaxing environment.  It is however the duty of the leader to make sure their group of students stay within those parameters.
